Yes, the rumors are sooo true. I am starting a new challenge. I have sold my house and moved the family and business to Cedar Rapids! Twelve years ago I jotted down on a napkin a dream of having both a boutique and photography in one space. This spring I had a meeting with a wonderful friend Laura Green of Images by Laura of Cedar Rapids. We wanted change and a new adventure in our studios. She really wanted to do a"trash the dress"session and what better way than a mud puddle! I love the images we captured, I was literally flat on my back laughing when she jumped in thinking it was ankle deep and landing on her tush, we did not realize the depth of the puddle.

I love photographing women who are expecting. Jenny is so beautiful and baby girl will be arriving June 10th. The assortment of shoes and slippers awaits the princess.

This is my favorite...I love the feel of this image with the road in front of her, the journey of the little one.

When I entered her home an saw this amazing piece of art that said " Life is Beautiful" I had to use it.

I don't know if it is the fact that 2nd grade and Kindergarten are coming to an end but my misty meter has been working overtime lately. This morning as we are getting in to the car to go to school the kids were exceptionally nice to each other. I commented on how lovely it was to have peace in the morning, without fighting. Grant talked about becoming an Ark-le-ol-ogist and how there would be traps set for him when he would discover a new treasure. He said he would be trained like Indiana Jones or James Bond and would overcome anything that would get in his way. I love that he is a dreamer and feels he can conquer the obstacles in front of him. Ahhhh. Catherine packed both of their swimming suits and towel for after school fun at Aunt Hollies, I didn't even ask her and she even did it for her brother. I love the fact she thinks of others too. Ahhh. I dropped them off and watched them run about a half a block into the school, I just sat and watched, her long blonde ponytail bouncing and his long arms and legs swinging to get him to the playground faster. They paused looking both ways to cross the parking lot. They came to the door and both went inside, the tears flowing down my cheeks. Out my little boy came, I couldn't see what he was doing so I leaned forward when I noticed four adorable, giggly blondes, entering the school and he was holding the door for them. Ahhh, sniffle. Life brings us the most incredible gifts if we just notice them.

We have just returned back from our fabulous vacation. Four days at Disney and 6 days on the beach. It has been a dream of mine to take the family and just hang at the beach together laughing, playing, relaxing and bonding. I can not express in words how much the time meant to me. The first time they saw the ocean they were so excited, Catie said,"Mommy I am so happy I think I want to cry" Grant could not get enough of the waves and sea shells. What a gift.
